Painting over blueboard

You most certainly can paint over blue board.

Use a high quality primer - like Glidden Ultra-Hide Gripper.

Topcoat with a Glidden topcoat of your choice - Evermore/Ultra-Hide/Ralph Lauren

Mr.Paint do you use homedepot alot?Just wondering you seem to know their brands to heart,or do you work as a paint consultant their?Just curious is all,I always use Hirshfields they have treated me the best and lower prices,not that homede[pot isn't nice just my paint supplier was pretty helpful when I 1st started out.

Retisin - I am very familiar with Glidden (ICI) products - have used them for years.

The reason I recommend THD a lot is because they are about everywhere in the country - everyone knows them. ICI Paint Stores are not everywhere - so recommending a product from them won't help some people.

Also, the line of products that Glidden has at THD is really great - quality and value. I will agree that sometimes their service and advice leaves something to be desired - but that doesn't stop me from recommending them.

As for Hirshfields?? I have never heard of them - I was going to ask you who they are - as I have seen you mention them before.

By the way - you do give good advice - It is good to see more good advice on the boards!

Thanks,Mr.Paint so do you,seems like whatever I missed as in like wearing the latex gloves next time you give the extra that I take for granted that the person should or will do next time,so I don't mention this.
Hirshfields is like a Sherwin Williams,kinda made for paint contractors and such.When I 1st got into this I quit my machinist job and started painting,let's just say I learned thru school of hard knocks.My local hirshfields rep worked for another supply company then went on his own and didn't like this so hirshfields offered him his own store and ive been following him.For he stuck with me when i'd come to him with the stupidist of questions.I have a home depot too,I liked their product but just so much easier for me to get all things in 1 place.
My tips,lacq,plastic,all supply's and sometimes HD won't have it so time is $$ and I hate running around I do this enough meeting with contractor's owner's,picking up supply's for my guys.
