Hi there,

We have a question about the tiling project we saw on your Home Again, Malibu beach house episode, it is either #324 or 325, where you are tiling the shower enclosure. We have a house of similar age and want to retile our bathroom. Your project showed walls with wire mesh where cement is spread over the mesh in order to apply the tiles. Our walls are set up the same way. We have wooden slats to which the wire mesh is attached and the tiles were attached to a cement layer. Now we are retiling would it be advisable to use waterproof drywall to apply the tiles too, or go with the way we found the tiles applied to the wall ie slats, wire, cement, tiles. What are the benefits (or downfalls)of either method.

Thanks for your advice.
