i'm trying to figure out which types of floors would work best in a beauty salon with high traffic and would be easy to keep clean seeing that there would be hair dye and such.

Laminate flooring is an excellent choice, I have been doing it in hair salons and nail salons for years.
Either that, or a multicolor inlaid commercial flooring. (vinyl).
But the laminate is more stain resistant.

the best thing you could do is invest in a high quality hard surface flooring such as ceramic tile or commercial sheet vinyl....good luck

Agree with laminate. Alot more comfortable for those working there as they're on their feet all day long.

I agree with the laminate, but you need to go with an upper end laminate that has a good commercial warranty. Wilsonart Classic has a 5 years commercial/water warranty, Pergo Select also has a 5 year commercial(not sure about the water part), and Wilsonart Estate Plus has a 7 year commercial/water warranty. All are High Density core planks. Wilsonart Classic has a 17mil wearlayer, Pergo Select has 10mil(I think)wearlayer & Wisonart Estate has a 45mil wearlayer (here thicker is better). Since this sounds like a remodel, the Pergo may be to thick (thicker core, thinner wearlayer -go figure) for your existing areas. You'll need to check. Wilsonart is an exceptional product to work with, my fav as you can tell I sell & install quite a bit of it. I've install many different brands and there is a huge difference in qualities and ease of working with. Spend a little more up front and save yourself some headaches later.
let me know if I can be of any help.
