Testing the Hisense Dishwasher

I tested the Hisense dishwasher in my Florida kitchen for just over 2 months, using it daily as my only dishwasher. It’s a minor frustration, but one worth noting if you regularly load very full or uneven racks. I’d have liked to see these adjustable pieces be slightly more solid when put in place, but I can appreciate that keeping them always super flexible on a day-to-day basis has its advantages, too.

This is an easy dishwasher to live with. The top-mounted controls are intuitive, clearly labeled, and responsive, with no learning curve required. Cycle selection is straightforward, and once started, the dishwasher is quiet enough to fade into the background—even during evening use in an open living space.

At 44 dBA, the noise level is a major upgrade from builder-grade models. I often had to look for the indicator light to confirm it was running. The auto door-open feature quickly became something I’ll always want in future dishwashers—it noticeably improves drying while reducing the need to manually unload and towel-dry items.

Even at full retail price (around $879), it undercuts similarly quiet, third-rack-equipped models, and frequent Lowe’s sales make it an even stronger value. 

Ongoing costs are minimal thanks to Energy Star efficiency and a condensation drying system that avoids power-hungry heating elements. Add in the Lowe’s-exclusive two-year parts-and-labor warranty (double what many brands offer) and the value becomes even clearer. If you’re upgrading from builder-grade appliances, this dishwasher delivers a noticeable quality-of-life improvement without creeping into luxury pricing.
