Can you give me an approximate idea of what it would cost to replace a roof ?
It is about 250 sqft over a room
low grade slope
has 2 skylights
currently has double layered shingles
no rotting
in Eastern PA
I am looking for ball-park estimates. Can this job cost as much as $6000 ? To me it sounds excessive given the square footage.

Sounds like Labor and disposal costs for removing the old shingles before the install. You could do this part yourself if you are healthy enough. A dumster isn't that expensive.
