I have a warm air duct running through a cold room (for storing food etc) in my basement. I plan to insulate the interior walls of the cold room to prevent heat loss from the basement. Can I use fibreglass pink to insulate the warm air duct? Should I leave a space between the insulation and the duct or can I place it right next to the duct work?

Hi cabennet,
You can buy 1/2" insulation wrap at the home center that's specifically used to insulate ducts. You wrap the ducts in a liccorice (sp) type-of-manner as you do the install. Then, you can duct-tape the 'ends'. Just be sure the tape goes ALL the way around the duct. Oh, use the Silver Tape; NOT the standard grey duct tape. The HVAC dept. has it.
My best to ya and hope this helps.
