Outdoor Chimneys are becoming more popular. The 2 main styles I have seen are the Mexican terra cotta look or the cast iron variety. I have heard the clay ones can crack & the cast iron can get rusty.

Do you know of any other types out there that are rust free or that can treated not to rust? Thanks

we have used the clay chimineas for several years now. they do crack, but if you keep the ashes out and store it in a dry place they will last several seasons. we go thru about one a year because we use it 2-3 times a week and leave it out in the weather. if you go clay, look for the one with the thickest clay. they vary in thickness.

as far as the metal ones go we nay try one this year as we arent concerned about the rust. i think it gives it character.
