Our contractor had our marble vanity polished and sealed in our bathroom remodel. The faucets had been removed to do this, so we think the guys cleaned their brushes in our unfinished shower. I think this because some of the grout on the shower floor tiles is now discolored in a splashed pattern.

Will marble sealant discolor what is probably as of yet, unsealed grout? It seems every punch list fix cause two more punch list items.

It is very possible that there is staining from the chemicals. You can Have the grout steamed and it should show a great improvement, If it comes clean then you will want to seal the grout with liquid grout sealer rather then aerosol can sealer. This will help prevent further staining.

I hope this helps,
