I have a bedroom door that won't stay open. It used to but because of a couple squeaks when we closed the door, we lubed the hinges and guess what? Now the door is perfectly quiet but won't stay open. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Just drive the hinge pins out....one at a time.......
and wipe off the pin and use a Q-tip in the hinge barrels........
replace the pin and repeat
"...measure once.....cut twice....throw that one away and cut a new one...."

Yeah, I pulled the door off and worked the barrels of the hinges and it worked. Just clean up the barrels and q-tip the barrels and it should work.
Thanks for the reply and forgive my ignorance but what excactly is "working" the barrels? And q-tips are used for ..... cleaning??
The barrels are what you pull the pins out of on the hinge...working them is kind of bending slightly to make them not so straight but just enough to make the pin go in a little tougher and q-tip cleaning those barrels doesn't really do anything but make the door a little easier to open and close I would just "work the barrels"
Hello, sounds like your door is out of plumb. set a level on your wall..most likely the (hinge) side is not in plane with your (lockside). re-install...
