I have a 8000 watt generator from Northern Tool that quit putting out any power. The generator still ran but no output.

Checked all the obvious things, circuit breakers, etc. Looked for broken wires, bad connections, no luck. Diodes and capacitors look good, rang the caps.

I believe I have two stator windings and they both are not open.

I have no print and about the only other thing to do is to break it apart and have the rotor checked and possibly the two varistors that are on the other end of the generator head.

Does anyone have any input, ideas or information?

It is a Northern Star M3 8000PPG Item # 165914

Thank You

I will try to remember to ask my husband for any help about this problem. He knows a lot about generators.

I will get back to you ASAP.

I have the same generator and I am having the same problem. Did you ever find a fix to bring it back to life? Engine runs fine, everything looks OK, but no power at the plugs (and breakers are all closed).
Thanks for your help
