How can I tell if a section of pipe is CPVC? I assume it will say 'cpvc' but is there any other codes printed on it that would imply that it is? Is the color a give away? I ask this because I had my home repiped with CPVC and I noticed some sections did not have the 'CPVC' stamped on them...the coding was the same as the other CPVC stamped sections.

CPVC is a yellowish color material whereas pvc would be white. The yellow is kind of dingey in color. sometimes the stamping comes off or is cut in a place where it is not identifiable......
Also, cpvc cannot be mixed with pvc because the wall thickness is of different size. Ex: a cpvc coupling or elbow cannot be glued to a pvc piece of pipe.. get it?

Thanks for the info...went to Lowes and looked at their CPVC and it was the color as, dingy white/cream with nothing to indicate it was CPVC, that is no 'CPVC' stamp. I guess there are many manufactures of this product and each one labels their own way.

thanks again
