Bvplumbing
My husband and I are remodeling our circa 1959 kitchen.

My question involves installing the kitchen faucet. First try was with a beautiful Kohler model with multiple tubes for this line and that, finally installed, it leaked "up-there-somewhere" in the "T" and another line, so after the 2nd day of trying we bought a Delta, one with less movable parts, and now the "T"? or cold/hot water spout still has a leak with you use it. My husband used teflon tape and even had one without, but it still leaks. What are we doing wrong? He's not experienced in plumbing so any clue/insight would be most appreciated. The box advertises "easy to install" HA! Please HELP! Next step is to hire a plumber!

Another related problem is with the double "P" traps he installed for the double sink. It's made with metal pipes and one keeps leaking, the others are fine. He's going to use PVC instead, as after replacing the leaking pipe/gasket/etc. it still leaks when water is draining. Any insight?

TIA/Thanks In Advance

Well, here's an update to our problem. The Delta faucet works wonderfully, the Kohler is back in the box looking for a new home, possibly the DUMP. I even called Kohler for replacement parts but the young lady "helping" me was not very helpful.

The "P" pipe system was re-done 3 times, changed from metal to pvc, and the reason it was not draining was that the waste pipe was clogged from the years [40+ yrs] of use and debris that settled during the 3 weeks of non-use. After using a homeowner's model snake, the 25 feet of line did not penetrate the clog, so a plumber was called in (He came on Sunday!) and with his monster snake and 35 feet later it was draining.

At least my husband's amatuer plumbing antics were not totally incorrect and the plumbing profession is still not at risk of losing any clients, although one was quite obnoxious in demanding a credit card with a 2 hour minimum @ $70. hour for a service call for "Monday sometime, but anything after 3:30pm was time and a half" . . . [We had called on Saturday.] May his rooter snag.
