My home is 15 years old and now I'm looking into finishing the basement. But I want to move the washer and dryer over 10 ft.
Can I extend the drain line for the washer without having any problems with backup?
And also will it cause a problem with exending the dryer hose this far. I don't care to make a new hole for the dryer vent.
Thanks

Also 10 feet will need a vent pipe installed above the flood level rim of the appliance.
Normally I would use the maximum for my guide line
The fixture can be locate with in 2 feet of the trap and the trap located not more then 2 feet from the vent.
Check local codes BUT if you try to install this washing machine without properly venting be prepared to have lots of stoppages and very noisy draining.
Don't forget the pitch required either and I would not trust a rubber hose 10 ft long for integrity either.
If your drier is gas and not properly vented you are looking to create a very dangerous condition like CO entering the home and you have also check your local gas supply codes as natural gas is based on BTU INPUT and developed length of piping.
Make sure the flu pipe is metal or an approved venting material in your area as no one likes to have a fire in the home where the vent piping not only melts but adds fuel to the fire.
