When the water is running in my kitchen sink the faucet will squeak or whistle. Any idea on how to get rid of the noise.

The noise is caused by something in the flow of water that can move around.

If this happens on both hot and cold then the first think to look at is the aerator.

Remove it and run the water to flush anything out.

And clean the screen.

If it is not their then it might be seals where the spout swivels, if it is loose. Or the diverter valve used for the sprayer.

If it is only the hot or the cold and you have a 2 handle faucet then then it might be worn stem or loose washer. Or it might be a loose washer on the stop valves.

Thanks Billhart. I bought a repair kit and seems to be working. I'm new at this so I hope it doesn't leak.
