We have had problems over the years of our GFCI often. Mostly tied to rain and I think our outdoor lighting. This is on a 15 amp circuit breaker.
Now it appears that Christmas lights are causing a problem (raining today).
Here is a scenario. Yesterday, for instance, let's say 10 strands of lights worked just fine (dry out), today, if I plug is say 5, the five strands work fine, Then, I unplug that 5 and plug in the other 5 it again is fine (so no short in either set of 5)if I go with all 10, it the GFCI is triggered.
My question, if there was some kind of a short due to the water, apparently the draw on the line can impact this? In other words, a short is more likely to occur the larger the draw????
