I've been told by several people on another flooring message board that Pergo will not honor warranty claims unless the laminate flooring was *professionally* installed by an installer who has taken some sort of Pergo installation course. These folks (who appear to be professional installers... hmm) claim that DIYers who buy the stuff at Home Depot and install it have NO warranty at all!!!
This sounds completely ludicrous to me since Pergo and others are sold as DIY projects. Can anyone confirm/deny? I see nothing in the Pergo warranty that suggests this-- only that they will not cover labor unless it was professionally installed, but that seems reasonable. I am not personally looking at Pergo, but would be concerned if any company was doing this.
