Robot vacuums promise to make cleaning the floor easier, but after testing several, I’ve found that not all live up to the hype. Some models scatter debris or lack the suction to pick up everyday messes. With a family of five, I need a robot vacuum with real power, which is where the Roborock Q Revo comes in.
I recently tested seven of the top robot vacuums for hardwood floors in my home as part of a larger test to determine the best vacuums for hardwood floors. I ran each model multiple times and then scattered food on my floors to see which vacuums could handle the mess. The Roborock Q Revo was the only robot vacuum that could pick up all the test debris, which included flour, cookie crumbs, and chocolate chips. Aside from its excellent suction power, the Roborock had other standout features, including two spinning mop heads and a self-emptying base that washes and dries the mop pads.
Since initial testing, I’ve continued to use the Roborock, and it’s considerably cut down on my cleaning time.

What is the Roborock Q Revo?
The Roborock Q Revo is a robot vacuum and mop with a multifunctional dock. It uses extreme suction power of 5,550 Pa (or pascals, which indicates how powerful a vacuum’s suction power is) to vacuum the floor while its two spinning mop heads scrub dirt and sticky messes. The Q Revo connects to an app via Wi-Fi, allowing users to control the robot remotely. The app also allows users to create maps, adjust the mop’s moisture level, name their rooms, and mark “no-go” zones for the robot to avoid. Creating cleaning schedules and routines (such as cleaning after meals) is also possible via the app.
The multifunctional dock makes the Q Revo a standout product. Rather than requiring the user to manually fill the robot with water for mopping, it refills itself via a clean-water tank. The dock also cleans the mop pads during and after each use and then dries them with heated air of 113 degrees Fahrenheit, to help prevent bacteria growth and odor. After cleaning the floor, the Q Revo self-empties into a bagged dustbin that can hold up to 7 weeks’ worth of debris.
The only user maintenance required is filling up the clean-water tank and emptying the dirty- water tank and dustbin as needed.
Connecting to the Roborock App
I’m not particularly tech-savvy, so I’m always wary of products requiring Wi-Fi connectivity. Fortunately, connecting the Q Revo to Wi-Fi and its app couldn’t have been easier. After plugging in the base and charging the Q Revo, I downloaded the app and scanned the QR code on my robot. Then, I entered my Wi-Fi password, and the robot was online and ready for me to use.
With everything connected, I instructed the Q Revo to clean, and the app asked me whether I’d like to save a map. I chose to, and as the robot cleaned, it created a layout of all the rooms on my first floor. This new map allowed me to name each room and create cleaning schedules and no-go zones. With the scheduling tool, I could program repeated or one-off cleanings and select to clean my entire house or only specific rooms.
Thorough Vacuuming and Mopping
My home has older wide-plank hardwood floors with slight gaps between some boards. Finding a vacuum with enough suction power to remove debris from these gaps can be challenging, but the Roborock Q Revo pulled out every little piece of dirt. The suction power is quite impressive for a robot vacuum, and out of all the models I tried, the Q Revo was the only one that passed all vacuuming tests.
The Q Revo cleaned up everyday dirt like a pro and suctioned 2 tablespoons of flour, a crushed-up chocolate chip cookie, and a handful of chocolate chips with zero crumbs left behind.
The mop on this robot is also excellent. It features two mop heads that utilize water and spinning action to clean stuck-on messes and lift regular dirt. The moisture level is adjustable, but on its default setting, the mop uses just enough water to damp clean, leaving my floors shiny and streak-free.
The Multifunctional Dock Rocks and Does the Work for You
One of my favorite things about the Roborock Q Revo is how useful the dock is. It self-empties, cleans and dries the mop pads, and fills the robot with water. After filling up the clean-water tank, I can forget about maintenance for several days. When the water level gets too low in the clean-water tank or the dirty-water tank gets too full, I get a notification via the Roborock app letting me know what I need to do.
At first, I was skeptical that the dock would do a good job cleaning the mop pads. After all, I don’t want dirty, stinky mop cloths washing my floor. To my surprise, the dock did an excellent job of cleaning the mop pads. Because it uses heat to dry the pads, they haven’t developed any odor, even though I’ve used the mop every day for 3 weeks and counting.
The dock makes the Q Revo a truly hands-off robot, which is perfect for users who want clean floors without any of the work.
Is the Roborock Q Revo worth the money?
The Roborock costs between $800 and $900 depending on the retailer. While this is a large sum of money to spend on a robot vacuum, the Q Revo comes with high-end features such as extreme suction power and a multifunctional dock that eliminates most user maintenance. Compared with similar models, the Q Revo robot vacuum is fairly priced.
Other ongoing cost considerations include dust bags, which are six for $31.99, and extra mop pads, which cost $29.99 for a four-pack. Plan to replace dust bags every 7 weeks and mop cloths as needed. Those who want to clean with more than water can also purchase Roborock’s cleaning solution for vacuum mops, which costs $18.99.
Is the Roborock Q Revo right for you?
The Roborock Q Revo delivers on its promises of powerful features and worry-free technology. It offers excellent suction (the best of all the robot vacuums I tested), and its spinning mop heads leave hard floors clean and streak-free.
While the price of the Q Revo is significantly more than that of a basic robot vacuum, its cleaning power and multifunctional dock make it worth the cost. It’s a good fit for those who want a truly hands-off cleaning experience. The only user maintenance required is occasionally filling up the clean-water tank and emptying the dirty-water tank and dustbin.
Those who don’t care about mopping functions and are looking for a carpet robot vacuum that offers good suction at a lower price may want to check out the Shark IQ robot vacuum or the Shark EZ robot vacuum. Both models performed well in our tests and come with a self-emptying base.
Shoppers who are looking for a quality vacuum and mop combo at a lower price point can check out the Yeedi Cube robot vacuum and mop.
