I have to wonder, are some construction trades doing so well today that they feel they can be discriminatory?

I called the roofing company that put a new roof on my house a few years ago. I asked if they could send someone over to (1) inspect a certain area of the roof because when it rains I sometimes hear a drip-drip sound from a certain area of the house and (2) if they could install additional gutters. Well, the guy I spoke with said he would come out to check it out. later, he calls and says he would reschedule. I faxed him and called him, but no response.

I'm really ****ed and wonder what I need to do next.

The same issue with the company that does electrical work for us. They came out to do some minor work. I asked for an estimate if they could do certain other kinds of electrical work. These guys never responded.

I talked to one of my lawyers about my experiences and he tells me that these companies have no right to behave this way. He said no lawyer would pass up a client because all the client wants done is a simple will as opposed to servicing a client with a multi million dollar estate.

Comments please.

If you have no deposit or contactural agreement with them, they have absolutely no reason or obligation to serve you. If your lawyer actually said that they don't have a right to act like jerks, he is a worthless lawyer since he knows nothing about rights.

i'll agree that they are not acting professiuonally tho. All you have to do is keep calling others'till you find a professional willing to fit you in.

Excellence is its own reward!
