Waterproofing Old Brick Basement
Just purchased old home on a brick foundation (in very good condition). No sump pump in basement, but since home is at highest point on .5 acre property and it doesn't look like it's ever been wet, the question is this: Do I need to seal/waterproof the brick (double-thick, offset) and if so, how do I do this?
there is no real way of sealing the brick from the inside. you can parge coat the interior and seal out some water but it never really works. In order to really seal it it must be dug up.
1. Expose foudation
2 pressure wash
3 parge coat
4 waterproof
5 install footer drain
6 backfill.

This is a lot of work. If it is not leaking now it probably has a good drain system. I would leave it alone unless it starts to leak.
