I am installing a sump pit and pump, along with french drains and was wondering if you need to add any additional holes (in the pit itself), other that the 4" pipes, that lead into the basin?

As it seems that installing the drain tiles and liner is a simple process (labor intensive), I have not been able to find any information about the actual "how to" process and was wondering if such publications exist.

Thanks for any responses.

It depends upon the type of 'pit you are using'.

A simple collection pit should have no holes since all water will drain into it via the drain tiles.

If you are using a drainage pit, the tub is usually already perforated and set in the ground on and surrounded by a crushed stone. This pit itself collects the water. There are no drain tiles.

You can check the website for the manufacturer of your sump pit for installation instructions.
