I always thought my basement was dry. A couple of years ago I painted the walls with dry-lock and the floor with Dry-Lock floor paint. My basement consists of a workshop, gym, and storage areas. The gym and storage areas has large pieces of area carpet, while the workshop has rubber mats on the floor. I never get standing water in the basement, but the other day I lifted the mat, and I noticed that water had collected under the mat. The area where I have the carpet has no problem. I run a dehumidifer in the basement. What can I do to prevent this water? Thanks

The water could be condensation. You might want to check for hairline cracks on the floor, and seal with hydraulic cement.
