I was wanting to install a attic fan in my attic and I noticed that inside my attic, the insulation was blown in. The peak of the roof extends down only 3 feet to the attics base or the ceiling I should say. Would it be wise to install an attic fan with the risk of attic insulation being sucked out? If not any suggestions??

Are you talking about putting a fan inside your house blowing into your attic or a fan in the gable blowing out the inside of your attic?

Either one I think would be OK. If you are worried about insulation being sucked out maybe some chicken wire or plastic for 5 feet or so would hold it down. Is there good ventilation throughout the rest of the attic?

Good luck,
