I recently had a water leak in my crawl space. It's hard to tell how long the water was leaking as I don't go DOWN there often. I estimate it was leaking for 2 months. The leak is now reapaired, but there is a lot of mold. The flooring of the crawl space is dirt and the gap between the dirt and the roof is about 2 feet high. The smell is pungent throughout the house. Any suggestion as to how to get rid of the smell and more importantly the mold?

Thanks!

put a bleach/water solution of 10 parts water and one part bleach into a spray bottle.

don't forget to wear disposable clothes due to your crawling in there.

spray this on the mold and leave for a day.

this should help to kill most of it.the mold should change color when sprayed. what you need too is to put 6 mil palstic on that dirt and seal around the edges to the foundation with accousticle caulk and the red tuck tape.

you could use frebreeze or nil odour to kill some of the smell, but it would be better to air out the house to exchange out the mold spores in the air as well as the bleach smell that will rise up into the living space.
