I need to install a new sliding glass door, can anyone let me know if this is something that can be done by an average do-it-yourselfer?

Alot depends on what you are installing it in. Brick, siding, stone, ect. on exterior? Plaster, drywall, wallpaper, etc. inside? Is the opening already in the wall and if so will it need to be modified for the new door? Is the wall a bearing wall?

The new door will actually be replacing an existing door, and I'm going to use the same manufacturer (Milgard) and size. I was hoping I could just put the doors on the existing track, but the guy at the window store said that I'd need to replace the whole thing.
