I have refinished an old cypress door to be hung on an outside bathroom. When I was cleaning the doorknob, I discovered it was brass. I have polished it and had the lock and plate brass plated. My question is, is there anything I can use to put on the parts to retard tarnish? These will be exposed to high humidity as we live directly over fresh water. I want some type of clear coat if one is available. The door was stripped and polyurethaned. To late I discovered teak oil.
