Right now i am already at the stage of having my sliders torn out and the French door frame sitting there waiting to be put in place. I need to know pretty much everything i need to do as far as making sure it is level and square. i am a beginner and do not have any experience doing this. I have been offered help by several people and it is all different, I need to know how to do it right. The concrete slab has a 1 inch lip on it right where the concrete block start so I believe the door would but up against that and the frame would then line up with the drywall for trimming it. The concrete is mostly level slightly off on top. The opening is 72.5 inches and the outside door frame is 70 inches so the 1x4 will bring it down to having a .5 inch on each side to shim. The concrete sill is very chipped and broken so I think I need to repair that first. The door frame is PVC and has a 1x4 under the threshold and I don’t know if that stays or not.
