A garbage disposal is the best invention that could have been made.

The following are the different kinds of garbage disposals:

1. Continuous-feed disposal: These are the most common type. These are controlled by switch. If there is running water, you can dispose as much waste as you like. The disposal opening remains open as long as it is being used.

2. Batch Feed disposals: It is also known as a cover control disposal. It has a stopper that lets it work in proper condition. In this type of a disposal, you have to put in both water and waste at the same time and put the cover on to let it work at its own pace. You cannot keep adding waste, as in the case of a continuous feed disposal because for a batch feed to work, the cover has to be on. You do not need a separate switch for this one. Hence, the installation of this type is easier than the other ones. These are considered a good option for households with children.

3. Septic Tank garbage disposals: These are specifically designed for places with a septic system. They work like continuous feed disposal but have a cartridge that can break food in a better way.

Plumbers can give you a good idea of which one would suit your household in the best manner.

I always prefer Batch Feed Disposal. It Is a unit turns on differently than a continuous feed disposal. You will have to put a stopper in the opening of the food disposer and turn the stopper to start the unit up. The stopper that you turn will activate the garbage disposal. A batch feed unit is preloaded before you turn it on. has great and informational reviews about garbage disposals .
