We hired someone to repaint our kitchen cabinets white. All was going fine until they decided to apply oil based polyurethane over the paint at the end. Of course it started turning yellow within hours. We need to fix this somehow but I’m unsure exactly what we should do. Should I try to just sand that outer surface of poly off and do another coat of paint? Or will I need to fully strip it off along with the paint with a chemical stripper and just completely start over? I was hoping to just sand off the poly and repaint a coat or 2, but I’m not sure if that will get enough of it off to make the new paint stick. Any advice would be much appreciated
