We have been looking at a house for sale in the Outer Banks. The house was built on pilings and finished to the ground, with the ground level a large rec area and upper level with kitchen, living room and bedrooms. A few years ago, the owner put on an addition, with a dining room on the upper level, and the bottom level an unfinished area behind the garage. Because the bottom level of the addition was unfinished, you can see there are no pilings on this addition, just regular frame construction. This is concerning to me. The house is finished beautifully, and it is obviously a professional job. Any thoughts on this?
