We are trying to paint our bathroom 20 year old cabinets (previously painted with acrylic latex. We went to our local paint store where the clerk neglected to ask is which paint we wanted. He gave us acrylic alkyd paint instead of just plain latex. We're trying to do thos quick and easy job and found out the paint we were sold takes up to 4 WEEKS TO DRY!!! WE HADN'T PREPPED IT FOR ALKLYD and now it's very streaky.

How can we remedy this without tearing out the cabinets! Were trying to sell our house soon.

Any advice? Should we try to strip it off? What would we use?

Thanks

You should have told the clerk what you wanted and you should have read the directions. Buy new cabinets and be done with it.
