Ceiling fan direction during winter
My heat vents are in the ceiling. Which way should the ceiling fan run during the winter to get the heat off the ceiling?
Just kidding, I think that either way would work but if the fan moves the air the ceiling there would be less air being blown toward the floor where you might get a wind chill effect.
In the summer the fan should push the breeze DOWN toward the middle of the room. In the winter it should pull the breeze UP from the center of the room. I take a permanent marker and put an "S" by the switch for Summer and a "W" for Winter in the appropriate places.
