2 bedroom downstairs are pretty humid. 1 in particular seems to get the brunt of the problems. We noticed many years ago that around the baseboards on the laminate wood flooring about 2-3" out we found condensation & sometimes even small puddles. It was more prominent in certain areas of the rooms. Our house was built in the 70's back when they used to lay the metal duct work in the ground. Ours has since rotted out over the years...we've had it coated, but our ducts still fill with water during the heavy rainy seasons. 1 bedroom in particular is reading 89% humidity, we've put in a small dehumidifier, but that's not helping drop the percentage...maybe it is, I don't know. And we have found the notorious black mold in many places. It's my daughters room and I feel I've neglected her by ignoring this issue over time. We are talking about flipping the unit and putting the duct work overhead. Or putting in a french drain to get the water away from the foundation. I just want to be sure we are not missing any other options out there. Any advise will help.
