Our house has hard-wired smoke detectors with battery backups. The one in the master bedroom started beeping last night (of course). We've turned off the circuit breaker, unplugged each unit, taken the battery out, pressed the test button for 30 secs. to clear the unit, put in fresh batteries in each detector, plugged each back in, and turned the circuit back on.
The unit in the master continued to beep even when the circuit was off. It's still beeping now that the power is back on and it has a new battery. I bought a new unit and put that in. It's still beeping.
I have no idea what to do next.
