Hi,
I'm working on grading the yard away from my house. The sides of the house are hidden from view by the fence. I've heard that in this area where cosmetic issues are not important, quarter down limestone works better than soil to slope away from the house to the fence. This might be especially since there is only about five feet to the fence on both sides and so grass won't grow well due to limited sun light. I will also be fixing the downspout drainage to minimize water landing there. Is quarter down an effective material in this scenario or would soil be better?

Thanks!
