I have an overhead light fixture that flickers intermittently, sometimes not even coming on when I throw the switch, then suddenly lighting up later. Whether it is flickering, on as it should be or not coming on at all I find that jiggling at the fixture and jiggling the switches does not change the situation. This fixture has two incandescent bulbs, both tightly screwed in and both flicker in tandem. This fixture is also controlled by two different switches, and the problem exists regardless of which switch is used, and shows no effect when jiggling either switch. Very strange it seems to me. Any thoughts?

A reply to self here: Removed the fixture and wiring seemed secure...save that the ground wire screw was a bit loose. This perhaps unsafe, but that wouldn't cause the intermittent on/off/flicker, would it? Tightened it up and for the moment the fixture is working properly. Though with any intermittent problem, we'll see how it goes.
