Hoping for some perspective. I have a home built in 1970 with popcorn ceilings in every room. We are assuming the possibility of asbestos, and to remove all of it would be insanely labor intensive (open floor plan - can't do just one room). There is crown molding in just one room, and it looks ridiculous. Is there risk of upsetting the hypothetical asbestos in the ceiling by removing the molding? We want the trim gone, but we'll leave it in place if removing it will trigger the need for asbestos abatement. Has anyone had any experience in this regard?
