I have a Frigidaire fridge under 10 years old. It seems to run 45-50 minutes every hour. Maybe I never noticed it before, but could this be normal? It stays cold and is not set to the coldest setting either. Thanks

Modern refrigerators can run 75-85% of the time normally. However, if your model has a forced air condenser (fan by the compressor), that condenser could be plugged with dust, dirt, pet hairs, etc. causing the fridge to work harder than normal.

If so equipped, it should be cleaned at least every year, twice a year or more if you have pets.

There is a special brush designed for cleaning refrigerator condensers which can be seen at the following link. Fridge condensers can sometimes be very difficult to get at to clean!
