The base on our shower stall in the basement is cracking. It would be major work to remove the entire stall just to replace the base. Is there something I can coat the base with to prevent further cracking?

There is such a thing as a fiberglass repair kit that's used on boats. You could try that. I don't know if they make them specifically for tubs and showers. You might check the yellow pages for bathroom supply houses and call around.
