I have an older Lennox electric furnace Model#ES5Q2 391-1p and I need to know what the wires do to the thermostat. The thermostat is also a lennox model#Q672BI202-I. I purchased a Hunter Auto saver 550 model#44550 and am attempting to make sense of the wiring. Does anyone know what it is? The terminals listed on the lennox thermostat are Vr(white),M (red),R Yellow),V (blue),F(green),Y(orange). Jumper exists between V and Vr. Thank you for any info you may have out there.

Model on Lennox is ES5Q2-471-1P and the plaque on the unit says Model C10-41-1 with a serial number of 5477A-00735. This is the only info on the unit. The thermostat has 7651 and Q672BI202-I on it. Is that enough info for this?

Thanks for the post! Like the articles and how you explain things. I had a guy draw out a conversion for this some time ago but due to a massive error in judgement I have misplaced it. I was hoping that perhaps that variety of Lennox had a known pattern that was easily converted. I figured it may come down to trying to trace wires and see what happens when different cycles occur. As for the wiring diagram. The only one I have is from its may install of '75 and it is not complete by any streatch of the imagination. It references a transformer and id's blower as "g", external load 24 vac as y to y1, and finally w to w1 to r1 in line to r. If it was only a car I would have it licked! I have restored one or two and though time consuming at least I am familiar with the car wiring. Furnace is a new one. House not an issue either for light duty. As for the external load labeled y to y1 on the drawing I assume this references the hot wire. I have the ability to scan the document I possess. Would that be worthwhile and make better sense?

Sincerely,

CK
