Hey there,

My questions is whether or not I should have our HVAC guy put actual ducts for our cold air returns or just have them run through the interior walls? For the exterior walls he ran the ducts. What is best for the interior walls? Ducts or no ducts? What are the pros and cons and or what problems might arise if ducts are not installed?

THANK YOU in advance for your reply...

Thanks for the reply. Our hvac guy has located the return air registers on the floor as well as one higher above it on the wall, two on one unit that is. Now I'm still wondering if it is better to run the ducts for them or not????? Someone told me that if you didn't run ducts for the cold air returns it would create a suction problem in your home????

Any other helpful ideas or thoughts on this?

I am not sure yet of the make and model of the furnace we are getting, but we plan on having an add on wood stove. We will primarily be heating with wood so we were thinking of not using the 2 stage or 2 cycle furnace and just going with something smaller; being as we would only be using it for the Summer months for the AC and when we are away for the weekend( we live in WIS, so more colder months).

ANy thoughts on that??? Better to use a 92 or 95 % efficiency

Improve comfort, Save your fuel bill and Install a corn stove. The inconvenience is well worth the added safety and comfort.
