I will soon be redoing my bathroom. Most of the walls have been covered with plastic tiles including the shower. I plan on putting wainscoting right over the walls. The tiles for the most part are firmly attached and the ones that are not I am pulling off. There is a almost dry type liquid nails behind them and it’s almost impossible to get it off. I would completely have to re-drywall if I wanted to paint it. I really think that the wainscoting will cover it just fine. The real problem is in the shower area however. I have seen these tiles that bull nose and will bridge a ½ to ¾ gap that would be caused by just screwing backer board right over the tile. Would this work?
