We tried to paint our sons room a Spiderman theme this weekend. It's been a disaster. We started with a color that came out orange instead of red. Painted over that with Behr "fiery red" also came out Halloween Orange! Went back and picked a dark red. Guy at ********** gave us primer said we should use (we are novice painters). He gave us white primer! We have found out that he should have given us dark primer. We have now applied 2 coats of red and it's very streaky, blotchy and ugly. I know we are going to need several more coats. Will it cover the streaks or should we use a dark primer and start over? Help!

THanks!

priming with a tinted primer would of helped but dont start over. Some reds take 3 to 5 coats. you make red out of a base with no titanium dioxide {white}. So you will apply thin coats and the color will darken and even out. red takes multiple thin coats with a day in between and alot of patience.

it will look great once your done. good luck
