I am not sure what the previous post means by thin coats. If paint is applied as it is suppose to be done at 400 square feet per gallon as quart will do a 8'X 12" sealed wall. This will give you an idea if you are applying the proper amount to the wall.

reds generally dont cover well so the average home owner do it yourselfer, tries to apply the product thicker because its not covering like normal colors. then they end up with a drippy saggy mess so. yes apply at 350 to 400 sqaure feet per gallon just like any thing else.
