Installed 1/2" drywall ceiling,taped and joint-compounded all cracks and gaps. Will have textured/popcorn type finish sprayed on. Now do I need to skim-coat the remaining bare wallboard with j-compound and sand the joints or will the texture hide all the flaws. THX

You don`t have to skim the whole ceiling. Just make sure your joints are filled evenly and lightly sanded. I would use a primer coat on the drywall before spraying the texture. Reason for this is because in my own opinion helps it last longer and stick better.
