I'm building a new home and really having a difficult time making a decision as to whether I should use wood or aluminum and vinyl for my exterior trim. It's an old world style house that will have brick, stone, and Nailite cedar shake siding on the exterior, and it is sitting in the middle of the woods. Some are telling me that wood will be the only thing that will look right with this type of old world home in a natural setting, and others are telling me that as long as the color matches, it's no big deal...why would I want the maintenance.

Help!

You can also get trim from the company that makes Hardiplank siding. It will have to be painted but it will not rot like wood but will look like it.

Hey onesi,
If you want to come and help me paint my wood sided house to experience it I should be doing it next summer. First I have to get the week off, then I have to hope and pray there is no rain in the forecast. Let me know when you're available and I will schedule around you. HeHe. I vote for what you feel up to.
