Wood Over Painted Concrete?
After tearing out the carpet in my fixer upper, the base flooring was just unfinished concrete, and stained chipped terrazzo. I would have liked to have kept the terrazzo but too many cracks. As a quick fix I was thinking of using concrete paint to cover everything up till I had the money to lay wood flooring. Will the paint on the floor effect laying parque or standard wood over top of it?
the paint won't hurt anything, the floor will need to be level before you put down the wood...good luck
If you are laying a floating floor the paint should have no effect at all. If you are using a gluedown floor you might run into compatibility problems with the paint and the adhesive. Of course a naildown floor won't be possible unless you put down something to nail to first.
