I'm considering different flooring options for my kitchen. Currently am looking at slate, tile, hardwood, and cork. Was looking at the tile, but the slate and cork really caught my eye when browsing. If anyone could help with any insight or experience that they might have had with these, especially the slate and cork, in kitchens- I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Ceramic and slate last forever, but can be hard to walk on and cold.

I live in Alaska, and I have choosen Cork for my kitchen. It is the most dent resistant, and very warm, and the most comfortable hard surface you can buy.

I am talking about the floating cork and not the thinner tiles.
