I bought a home that has ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor, but some of the tiles are loose. What can I do to fix the problem?
Well the first thing you need to do is find out why the tiles are loose and then determine if they need to be remortared down, or completely replaced.
Loose tiles are from improper installation or water damage.
Pull up a heating register, and determine if the floor is on concrete, or wood. Then determine if cement backerboard was used in the tile installation. ( there should be at least 1 1/2 inches of subflooring total to put down ceramic tile.
If water was the factor, then more investigating should be done.
