Hi,

I want to paint over the grout used in my ceramic tile flooring. The tiles are light in color and the grout used is med. grey, this is throughout the kitchen and living room area. I know it can be done, but I just don't know what paint to use and if one coat of a sand type color of paint would work over the gray. It is really between a light and medium. But in some places looks almost dark gray from dirt or grease. It is very hard to clean.

Thank you for any information.

LiisaAnn.

If you go to a tile supply store they have grout colorants exactly for that purpose.

I thought that the grout colorants are for mixing with the grout before it is applied. My tiles are already set with grout, a medium gray color. Been there for years. I want to know how and what type of paint to use to paint over them.

Most grouts come with the colorants mixed in with the ground. Although I am sure that there are a few specialists that want to do something special.

No what I am talking about is topical material, whether it be a "stain" or "paint" that is desgined specifically to change the color of existing grout.
