I am planning to put vinyl tile in my basement. I occasionally ge water on the floor for various reasons. I have self stick tile in other parts of the basement, when they get wet water seeps out of the seams. Is there anything to use to seal them so the water doesn't get under the tile. If you use regular tile adhesive on these tiles will that keep the water out.
For areas where water penetration is a known issue, it is always best to address the water situation before isntalling any flooring. This could be as simple as grading the ground on your property away from the house, sealing the substrate and wall, or more complex professional solution depending on the cause of the water penetration into the space.
That said, there has been great success in using a 2 part epoxy vct adhesive in wet areas.
A number of companies make epoxy adhesive for Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT).
